David Robertson has nearly 30 years of experience in the events industry. As IT Hardware & Software Developer at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), his role involves the design, testing, delivery, training, development, management and support of the EICC’s internal IT systems.

David is a member of the EICC’s Wellness Team and, with an interest in environmental matters, he works on various sustainability projects for the company. Outside of work, David volunteers with a local environmental social enterprise where he helps with computer E-waste to reduce the amount of IT equipment going to landfill.

The EICC has used Momentus software for over 20 years, and David was involved in the decision-making process to initially bring the software into the company. Following this, he project managed the installation including the data transfer from the company’s previous system. Since then, he has worked with internal teams to develop the system to meet user’s specific requirements. He is also involved in the UK Momentus User Group, which meets regularly to share how venues use the system. From this David develops ideas for future use at the EICC.

Outside of work, David regularly attends sports events, music concerts and shows with family and friends. He enjoys travel and is looking forward to a couple of days in the Netherlands after the conference which includes a trip to see AFC Ajax v PSV. He is also a keen photographer and has travelled extensively capturing images and learning from some award winning photographers.
